Math classes should be about much more than a series of formulas procedures that students should memorize. In Mid-Del, we work to keep our students from getting lost in the tangle of unconnected algorithms. We begin with teaching conceptual understanding, building upon prior knowledge in a context that students can relate to, before we move to learning and practicing procedural knowledge.

We view math globally from K-12, instead of thirteen different installments of separate lessons. We encourage discovery-learning through tactile activities and the use of manipulatives. Deep understanding of the mathematical concepts at each grade level will give students the tools they need to be successful in any college, career, or citizenship path they follow

State testing in math occurs in 3rd through 8th grades in the form of an Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test (OCCT) and in high school Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry with an End-of-Instruction (EOI) exam.
