Good Afternoon Senior Parents,
We wanted to provide you with the latest information regarding Mid-Del graduation. Our Community Relations Office has been filming staff and students from each high school for the recorded graduation ceremony. This recorded program includes the students who will be featured in the in-person ceremony happening in the summer. The video will be aired on Mid-Del’s YouTube account, Facebook account, and school website on May 23rd as the virtual graduation. You and your student will be able to watch the speeches and view his/her named being called as a graduate from Mid-Del Schools. We will have the video available to download the following week. Mid-Del Schools will host virtual graduation ceremonies on May 23rd at the following times:
- Del City High School 10:00 a.m.
- Midwest City High School 2:00 p.m.
- Carl Albert High School 6:00 p.m.
*If you are unable to watch the graduation video at the designated time, don’t worry! Once the videos are made available on May 23rd, you can watch them at any time!
In addition to the virtual graduation, we have scheduled an in-person commencement to take place on the following dates at 6:00 p.m. at First Southern Baptist Church located at 6400 S. Sooner Road in Oklahoma City.
- Del City High School June 22, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
- Midwest City High School June 23, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
- Carl Albert High School June 25, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
We will not be issuing tickets to attend graduation. However, we will be following the guidelines set forth by the City of Oklahoma City in regards to group gatherings identified by COVID-19 procedures, due to the location of the event. We will also be following guidelines set forth by the CDC. We look forward to celebrating our students and their accomplishments online and in-person.
Graduation Pictures/Diploma and Program Pick-Up information:
We will have an opportunity for our families to drive-up to our photo booths that will be located in front of the field house at each of our three high schools on May 21st from 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. and May 22nd from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. to take pictures of seniors in their cap and gowns. Families will need to bring their own cameras for pictures.
Our seniors will also receive a copy of the printed graduation program and diploma cover. Diploma covers will not be distributed at the June 25, 2020, in-person graduation. If you are unable to attend pictures on May 21/22, you will be able to receive a copy of the program and diploma cover at a later date.
