We had such a special time this week celebrating Grandparents Day with our Donuts for Grownups! It was so sweet seeing our Bluejays enjoying time with their grandparents and sharing a special morning together. We loved having so many grandparents join us at Barnes!
A big thank-you to everyone who stopped by the School Book Fair after enjoying their donuts! 📚 Your support is helping us raise money to purchase new books for our library for our Bluejays to enjoy.
All of the profits from our book fair go directly back into the library, so every book purchased helps us add more exciting books and resources for our students. 📖

Our Bluejays had a great time on Friday with The NED Show! NED taught our students some important lessons through an entertaining and engaging assembly centered around three simple messages:

⭐ Do Your Best
We loved seeing our students laughing, participating, and learning while being reminded that these three ideas can help them both in the classroom and in everyday life.

Our first graders are having fun while practicing their addition facts with Play-Doh! 🤗 Using hands-on learning makes math even more exciting as students create, count, and solve addition problems. 🔢✨

Mrs. Shubert’s 5th graders took advantage of these hot days to dive into physical changes in matter!
Students designed and built their own thermal conductors, then put their creations to the test by using the heat of the sun to make delicious s’mores! ☀️🔥🍪

Tomorrow, Friday, August 21, is the LAST DAY parents and guardians may walk their elementary students to class.
Then, on Monday, August 24, Independence Day begins! Our students will take a big step by walking to their classrooms independently, building confidence and responsibility along the way.
Don’t worry, our amazing staff will be throughout the building ready to welcome, supervise, and help students every step of the way.
