🧪🌋 Lava Lamp Labs at Barnes! 💙
Mrs. Shubert’s classes had some bubbly fun while learning about mixtures, solutions, and the density of water!
Our Bluejays got to see science in action as they created their own lava lamp experiments and watched the different substances interact. What a fun way to take what they’ve been learning in the classroom and turn it into a hands-on experience!
We love seeing our Bluejays learning, experimenting, asking questions, and having fun with science!

We are so thankful for these two members of the Mid-Del Maintenance Department who went above and beyond to help take care of our school!
While they were at Barnes checking on the school’s windows, Mrs. Wood mentioned some rocks behind the school that needed to be cleaned up. They told her to put in a work order, but instead of waiting, they found time the very next day to come back out and take care of it themselves! 👏
We truly appreciate their willingness to pitch in and help make our school a better place for our students and staff. It’s these little acts of going the extra mile that make such a big difference! 💙

We had such a special time this week celebrating Grandparents Day with our Donuts for Grownups! It was so sweet seeing our Bluejays enjoying time with their grandparents and sharing a special morning together. We loved having so many grandparents join us at Barnes!
A big thank-you to everyone who stopped by the School Book Fair after enjoying their donuts! 📚 Your support is helping us raise money to purchase new books for our library for our Bluejays to enjoy.
All of the profits from our book fair go directly back into the library, so every book purchased helps us add more exciting books and resources for our students. 📖

Students designed and built their own thermal conductors, then put their creations to the test by using the heat of the sun to make delicious s’mores! ☀️🔥🍪

Independence Day is coming to Mid-Del!
Tomorrow, Friday, August 21, is the LAST DAY parents and guardians may walk their elementary students to class.
Then, on Monday, August 24, Independence Day begins! Our students will take a big step by walking to their classrooms independently, building confidence and responsibility along the way.
Don’t worry, our amazing staff will be throughout the building ready to welcome, supervise, and help students every step of the way.
We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with our students! Thank you, families, for helping us encourage confident, independent learners.
