🌟 Happy Administrative Professionals Day! 🌟
Today we’re celebrating the amazing ladies in our office here at Barnes Elementary! 💐
Thank you for everything you do to keep our school running like clockwork—from answering calls and caring for students to juggling a million things behind the scenes. You are truly the heart of our school!
To show their appreciation, our students made heartfelt cards to say thank you—and let’s just say, the smiles said it all. 💛📬
We’re so grateful for your dedication and kindness every single day.

🚌💛 Today, on National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, we’re celebrating the amazing individuals who make sure our students get to and from school safely each and every day! Our bus drivers are more than just drivers—they’re friendly faces, early risers, and the first “good morning” many students hear. To show our appreciation, we surprised our drivers with baskets full of goodies—and a whole lot of gratitude. Thank you to our incredible transportation team! You keep everything rolling. 💛🚌

Current Mid-Del Families,
It’s time to begin Phase 1 of the enrollment process for the 2025–2026 school year!
Phase 1 opened at 8:00 AM on Monday, April 21, 2025, for all current Mid-Del students—especially those moving to a new school site as they advance from elementary to middle school or middle school to high school.
You should have received an email on April 21 containing your child’s Snapcode, which is required to complete re-enrollment. This step allows you to verify and update your student’s information, including contact details and residency.
Important: You must have your student’s Snapcode to begin.
If you do not receive your Snapcode, please contact your student’s school directly.
Once Phase 1 is complete, you’ll be ready for Phase 2, which begins July 15 and includes submitting your updated proof of residency.
We look forward to serving your family for another great year in Mid-Del!
Mid-Del Enrollment Team

Reminder for Mid-Del Families:
All Mid-Del Schools will be closed for students on Friday, April 18th, as previously scheduled. This is not an instructional day.
Please note that Mid-Del administrative offices will remain open during regular business hours.
Enjoy the extended weekend! #mdpurpose

🌞 Check out our brand new Hammock Garden at Barnes! 🌞🪵
We’re so excited to give our students a cozy, shaded spot to hang out and read. These hammocks are the perfect place to relax with a good book during the school day!
Huge shout-out to Mrs. Thomas for writing the grant that made this possible 🙌 and to our amazing Mid-Del Maintenance Crew for installing the posts and getting everything set up just right. 💪🔧
We can’t wait to see how classes use this special space – from reading and writing to mindfulness and reflection time. It’s perfect for:
📖 Independent reading or listening to audiobooks
✍️ Outdoor journaling or creative writing
🧘♀️ Mindfulness and brain breaks
🎨 Art and sketching sessions
💬 Small group discussions or book clubs
🌱 Nature observation and science reflections
It’s going to be a favorite spot for years to come! 💚

💜 Purple Up Day at Barnes! 💜
Today, our students and staff proudly wore purple to show their support for military children and to recognize the incredible strength and sacrifices of our military families.
Purple symbolizes all branches of the military, and by wearing it, we stand together in appreciation of the unique challenges and contributions of military-connected students.
Thank you to our military families for your service, your resilience, and the important role you play in our school community. We are proud to stand with you today and every day!

Congratulations to the Barnes Debate Team for placing 3rd in the tournament this weekend. Way to go Blue Jays!

Today, our halls were filled with cheers and SO much encouragement as we celebrated our amazing 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders with a State Testing Parade! 🎈
Our younger students, staff, and even some special guests lined the halls with posters, high-fives, and words of motivation to pump up our test-takers. 💪✏️ You’ve got this, Bluejays — we believe in you! It's time to show what you know and fly high on those tests!

The Barnes Blue Jays were on the move this afternoon for a sunny egg hunt! With over 200 eggs scattered across the grass, our speedy Pre-K students had them all scooped up in less than four minutes—now that’s what we call egg-cellent teamwork!
Big smiles, full baskets, and lots of joy were shared with their teachers and families who joined in the fun. What a sweet springtime celebration for our tiniest Blue Jays!

First grade had a fantastic time at the Children's Theater today watching A Sick Day for Amos McGee! The students were captivated by the heartwarming story, laughter, and wonderful performances. What a great way to bring literature to life! 📚
