Mrs. Culbert's ACE class has been studying the art of glass blowing and this lesson combines science and the arts. The students discovered that glass is created by heating sand to over 2000 degrees in a kiln. Dale Chilhuly is an American artist who is popular for his glass blowing artistry. The students studied and created art inspired by Chilhuly. They used plastic due to its lower melting point and available supplies, and created some beautiful collaborative masterpeices for our hallways.
