Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, and Percussion are the instrument choices for beginners. We have partnerships with Palen Music Company and Edmond Music who have amazing rent to own programs with an add on to include VERY reasonable insurance plans (that are beneficial for beginners)!
Mrs. Stephens is a 1992 graduate of Midwest City HS where she was a 1st chair All-Stater on Clarinet. After graduation, she pursued her Bachelor’s of Instrumental Music at the University of Oklahoma where she studied with Dr. David Etheridge and marched with the Pride of Oklahoma. She went on to teach at Fox ISD and Crooked Oak PS before teaching band at Jarman MS for 20 years. This is her fourth year at MCMS.

Mrs. Scott attended the University of Oklahoma where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Education. After graduating college Mrs. Scott was the assistant band director for the Perry Public Schools before taking the Carl Albert Jr High band director position, which she held until 2022. After resigning from Carl Albert MS, Mrs. Scott attended the Southwest Airlines flight attendant training academy which she passed with flying colors. So she can spend more time with her family, Mrs Scott flies occasionally and was happy to fill the band director opening at MCMS teaching with Mrs. Stephens, one of her best friends. Mrs. Scott has been married for 24 years and is a proud military mom to her Marine son and Army Nat’l Guard daughter!
