Recently, 1st grader Kannon Brockman had the opportunity to teach a lesson on animals. He described the facts, noted the characteristics, and answered his classmates' questions. We were impressed by his bravery and wealth of knowledge!

It is World Teacher's Day. 🍎✏️
Epperly Heights has some of the best educators around. They work diligently each day to ensure all students learn at high levels and create safe spaces for all children to thrive. They encourage Mustangs each day to reach their personal best. We are grateful for their commitment and dedication to this profession.
Join us in shouting out teachers who have made an impact. Let them know how much you appreciate them!

Mrs. Manning's 4th graders recently completed research projects. Requirements involved investigating all components of their animal, writing a multi-sentence report, and presenting their findings to the class. They bravely stood in front of their peers, principal, assistant principal, counselor, and teacher to share all they learned.
These Mustangs did a fantastic job!

We would like to thank Del City Fire Department for visiting with our Pre-K and Abilities students this morning! They did a presentation on what firefighters do, explained their gear, and raced to put it on. Then, students had the opportunity to walk around the trucks and see all the moving parts of fire engines. 🚒
We're grateful for this partnership and all the time DCFD lends to our building. 🧑🏼🚒👨🏾🚒

Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed! Mrs. Watson's class got to try an apple pie, color, and build our sentence that says “An apple pie.” They also rolled a dice and colored the apples that matched the number rolled. 🥧
Pre-K has mastered making learning FUN! 🍎🍏

We would like to thank Del City High School Softball for greeting our students this morning. They started Fun Friday off with a bang of energy. ⚡️
Our Mustangs LOVE getting high fives from their Eagle friends. 🦅❤️

Thank you to Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages for their donation of snacks and treats this morning. These will be used to keep students energized and ready for learning. We are so grateful for their generosity and kindness! ❤️

Mr. Ray's class recently did an experiment with solids, liquids, and gases. In connection to their story "Many kinds of matter" students put their STEM lab skills to use.
The experiment consisted of putting water and alka seltzer in an empty glue stick. After a few seconds, the water and tablet caused gas to build up and "POP" the cap off towards the sky. We were very impressed by their attention to steps and safety. 👩🏻🔬🧑🏽🔬

Mrs. Watson's class has had lots of learning and fun with centers this week. These mini Mustangs are getting better and better with procedures and routines. 🤩

Our Abilities students took a field trip to the grocery store this morning! This week they've learned the process of making pancakes, following a recipe, and cleaning up. 🥞 They were responsible for planning their list, shopping for their ingredients, and checking out. 💵
These Mustangs learned valuable life skills today and we are so proud! 🛒
