We're starting a farm! Just kidding.. but we really do have chickens!
Ms. Nicky and Ms. Meek's classes have hatched baby chicks. Starting as just an egg, they watched them break out of their shells, learn to walk, and heard their chirps. They've done baby chick themed activities and had opportunities to care for their (temporary) class pets. These Mustangs are making memories to last a lifetime.
Mrs. Cranfill's class had special visitors today. Don Vick and Hank Cranfill explained how they used math skills in their careers! This helps students understand that their skills learned now, will impact them in the future!
Centers fun in Mrs. Watson's class! These Mustangs are mastering lots of fine motor skills, crafts, and letter work!

It's Homecoming day for DCHS! 5th grade had the opportunity to walk to the parade route to watch(and get candy of course!)🦅❤️ We had a wonderful time seeing current and former Mustangs souring today!

Time for an Earthquake drill!! As part of the national "Great American Shake Out" initiative, students and staff practiced procedures for a natural emergency.
The drill is conducted each year on 10/16 at 10:16am. The Mustangs did a great job! 👏🏼

Mr. Chris' class worked on measuring and pattern skills with a delicious twist. They created layered dirt cups (made of Oreos and pudding)!

Thank you Mr. Ike and Del City Kiwanis Club for their donation of two bikes this morning! Their dropoff is part of the BUGS program, which encourages students to bring up their grades. Throughout the year students will earn entries into the drawing for the bikes.
We are grateful for their generosity and encouragement this provides our Mustangs. 🚲
Ms. Manning's class is wrapping up their "entertainment" category of writing. To practice, the students wrote spooky themed stories this week. Today, they sat in a circle and had the opportunity to share their writing with classmates.
These 4th graders did an excellent job!

Thank you to Del City Fire Department for reading with Miss Rowe and Mrs. Daggs' classes this morning! The first responders read the story "Lou" about a fire hydrant with a big story to tell.

Recently, 1st grader Kannon Brockman had the opportunity to teach a lesson on animals. He described the facts, noted the characteristics, and answered his classmates' questions. We were impressed by his bravery and wealth of knowledge!

Mrs. Manning's 4th graders recently completed research projects. Requirements involved investigating all components of their animal, writing a multi-sentence report, and presenting their findings to the class. They bravely stood in front of their peers, principal, assistant principal, counselor, and teacher to share all they learned.
These Mustangs did a fantastic job!
