Pleasant Hill Elementary School

Our beloved music teacher, Mrs. Morris, serendipitously earned a grant from the Mid Del Foundation on National Fine Arts Appreciation Day.  She wrote a school-wide grant to purchase 15 rolling stands for Orff instruments and 3 10" frame/hand drums.  Orff instruments are xylophones and glockenspiels used in the Orff approach to music education, incorporating movement, speech, and drama with instrumental play. The rolling stands will provide instrument mobility for performances and also allow students to sit in chairs while playing.  The hand drums will be used for learning percussion and help with World Music Drumming. Thank you, Mrs. Morris, for advocating for the fine arts and going above and beyond the hours in the school day to seek thousands of dollars in funding and create thrilling lesson plans for our students' musical understanding and growth. All students are musicians at Pleasant Hill!
