MLK contest

We are so proud of the talented Cardinals who were honored at the 40th Annual Commemoration of the Life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Tree of Life Ceremony on Thursday, April 4th at the Oklahoma State Capitol Plaza. The OKC MLK Alliance's annual Essay and Poster contest is an opportunity for elementary through high school students to learn about the history of Martin Luther King, Jr., and to produce art representing the 2024 theme: "Together We Rise: One Nation, One Dream." Students followed detailed guildelines and criteria to earn rubric points for both the essay and poster categories. 4th grader Eyvan Johnson won 2nd place in the 3rd/4th Grade Essay Contest, while 5th graders Mya Bond and Ahriah Stewart won 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, for the 5th Grade Essay Contest. Eyvan Johnson also won 2nd place in the Poster Contest for his age group, while Saniyah Mallory won 3rd place in the 5th Grade Poster Contest. All of our phenomenal winners receive a cash prize and an Academic Medal for their accomplishments. Thank you to Ms. Boyd for providing this academic and artistic possibility to our students. These creative masterpieces from our students thriving in a learning and growing culture enrich our lives with history, humanity, and unity.
