Cardinals were honored to welcome Chief Barron and Firefighter Emrich to Pleasant Hill on Tuesday, October 28th. These community helpers led a Fire Safety Assembly for the student body with ultimate engagement and multisensory learning. Barron and Emrich brought awareness of fire hazards, described actionable steps in case of emergency, and revealed how firefighters look, sound, and act when they are on a fire call. PreK-5th graders were called upon by Chief Barron to participate in answering and asking questions about the jobs of firefighters and what they may do in certain emergency situations. Cardinals were invited to watch and time Firefighter Emrich as he geared up for a call - well under a minute! He went the extra mile to wear his air tank and mask so that the crowd can see and hear firefighters in the midst of a call so fears can be alleviated. The beeping and breathing is helping them safely get to us and put out fires! Chief Barron shared that the fire station is available for citizen tours. Pleasant Hill thanks you for your service and sacrifice to take care of us and our community - humans, pets, property, and landscape.
