mid del foundation

The Mid Del Foundation surprised and uplifted two Pleasant Hill teachers on Thursday, December 11th, with generous grant awards. Our phenomenal music teacher, Mrs. Morris, earned $2500 to fulfill her grant entitled Rhythm and Roots: The African Heartbeat of Latin America. She will be receiving four djembes with stands, a cajon, nineteen pairs of Orff mallets, a buffalo drum, a gathering drum, and portable PA system with wireless microphone. The grant items will be used for all music classes at Pleasant Hill and make appearances at special assemblies and performances. Mrs. McCabe, the PreK teacher, earned a $750 grant called Earnestly Working, which focuses on teaching needs versus wants, financial literacy, consumerism, and taking care of self and family. Grant items include a market stand, grocery cart, cash register and money manipulatives, early childhood books about finances, and materials for a classroom management and economy system whereby students earn class money to purchase class pets and accessories to care for them. We extend our deep gratitude to #MidDelFoundation for supporting classrooms and students in the most sincere way and at the most direct level. The Cardinals will celebrate and honor your commitment to enhance multisensory and active learning through the provision of meaningful, hands-on materials. Your legacy lives on through the next generation!
