Pleasant Hill Elementary School

Ms. Gordon's 2nd grade classroom created a Black History Month Museum at Pleasant Hill during the month of February. Ms. Gordon displayed over 80 posters with photographs and biographies of notable Black Americans who were cultural icons, inventors, skilled artists, authors, and musicians, inventors, trailblazing activists, all of whom contributed significantly to the betterment and forward progression of our country. The primary hallway at Pleasant Hill and the 2nd grade classroom became a living testament to the power of human innovation, talent, and perseverance, thanks to Black Americans past and present. Ms. Gordon also charged the students with a Poster Project to create a trifold display honoring a famous Black American. All students participated with gumption and wholehearted creative effort!
