Pleasant Hill Cardinals are flying high with grants in their wake! Ms. Glisson, the registrar and principal’s secretary, launched the year by earning a generous grant from Swell water bottle company. Each student received a reusable metal water bottle, which Ms. Glisson individually personalized with initials in vinyl. Each teacher also received a water bottle and an additional gift to use in the classroom.

Our music teacher, Ms. Morris, received a $2500 grant from the Mid-Del Public Schools Foundation for ten Sonor Meisterklasse and Palisono Orff instruments, including two alto glockenspiels, a soprano xylophone, alto metallophone, two alto xylophones, and chromatic add-ons. She has also been the recipient of the Music Opportunities Committee of OKC’s Ladies Music Club grant worth over $2,700 from the Carolyn P. Nuckolls Fund and a DonorsChoose OSDE CLASS Grant worth $800. This money will purchase a set of five Sonor Palisono bass bars, a soprano xylophone, and two microphone stands.

Other P. Hill teachers who received DonorsChoose OSDE CLASS Grants were: Mr. Pockrus to buy book sets for the school book club; Mrs. Gant to purchase calming corner sensory items, flexible seating discs, sand timers, phonics games, and social emotional self-regulation games; and Mrs. McCabe to add flex-space wobble cushions, diversity and inclusion journals, and high interest reading intervention folders to her classroom. Mrs. McCabe’s classroom also earned a $500 prize from OKC Thunder for being selected as an October STEM Lesson Devon Thunder Explorers winner.

Congratulations to the staff and students at Pleasant Hill Elementary for extending these requests to our magnanimous donors so our school can continue reaching its full potential, becoming educated, productive citizens. Thank you to the supporters who made these dreams possible!
