Mrs. Watson's class has been learning about Johnny Appleseed and the many things he did. These mini Mustangs have done Apple crafts, Apple tastings, spelled an apple pie sentence, and other fun activities. 🍎🍏

Mrs. Emanuel's 5th grade class read a chapter from their book, Fish In A Tree, and discussed various learning styles. They also had the opportunity to learn about our state legislature and how our government operates.
Mrs. Haines' 1st grade class read, I Choose To Be A Helper, before brainstorming ways to be helpful at school and home.

You are required to use your SafeID placard during dismissal. This ensures maximum efficiency and safety of all students. 🚙
Our dismissal staff rotate often and do not recognize every parent/car. (We have hundreds of Mustangs!🐎) Your placard needs to be visible EVERY DAY. Stopping by your window to ask for the SafeId slows our process significantly. As well as, please ensure your student knows their SafeID number. Make sure they're listening for their number to be called at dismissal! 💛

Join us in celebrating our students of the week for 09/14/2026-09/18/2026! These students have gone above and beyond the Mustang expectations. 🥳 ⭐️Upper Grades Hazel was nominated for Student of the Week by Mrs. Guild. Hazel always offers to help others whenever she can. When classmates are having a hard day, she tries to find ways to support them. Hazel is regularly seen doing the right thing and does a great job at practicing the Mustang Mighty 5. Her teachers would describe her as a kind, thoughtful, and well behaved student. Being a good friend is the best quality a person can have! We are so proud of her! ⭐️Lower Grades Kyleena was nominated for Student of the Week by Ms. Miller. Kyleena is a stellar example of our Mustang Mighty 5 (Respect, Responsibility, Self Control, Focus, and Kindness). Whether she is in the classroom, cafeteria, hallway, or the playground, Kyleena can always be found following procedures. She sets the standard for how her 2nd grade classmates should act and we are so proud of her leadership!
Botball practice #1 is in the books!
Today, students met to discuss the fun things they'll get to do in this club. Veteran team members got to explain how things work and what they'll learn in Botball. We are excited for this upcoming team and can't wait to see their performance at the spring competition! 🤖

We had an extra special guest in our building this morning. Thank you Senator Brenda Stanley for reading with Mrs. Minor's, 5th graders and Ms. Shaw's, 1st graders.
Our students learned about a Senator's job, listened to a story, and had the opportunity to ask questions. We are very grateful to Senator Stanley for her time pouring into our Mustangs today.
The deadline to sign up for a counseling small group is this week!
Specifically, Calm Waters hosts a free 8 week group for students who have experienced divorce, separation of parents, loss of a loved one, have an incarcerated parent, been in foster care/guardianship, etc. Students are placed in groups by age/grade to ensure all content is appropriate! During groups, Mustangs will learn about coping skills, emotional regulation, build their self esteem, and connect with others.

We have a new staff member to celebrate! 🥔 Congratulations to our September "Positive Potato", Ms. Schmidt! She has been such a bright addition to our 2nd grade team. Her positive attitude and consistency each day has been influential amongst our staff. We're so glad to have her here!
Yesterday, some of our 3rd and 4th grade students had a visit from Del City Fire Department! Gym time is always a school favorite, but it's extra special when there's a dodgeball showdown involved.
