Epperly Heights Elementary School

Please help us celebrate our students of the week for 09/07/2026-09/11/2026. ⭐️(Upper Grades) Nellie was nominated for Student of the Week by Mrs. Royal. She is continuously demonstrating the mighty Mustang 5. She stays focused on her daily tasks and school work. Nellie is kind to others and respectful in every school environment. She has been personally recognized by numerous teachers for following hallway procedures and doing the right thing in the lunchroom. She also received a special shout out for being so well behaved for a substitute this week. We are beyond proud of her leadership! AND.. we just noticed that last week her sister was our lower grade student of the week. Talk about a dynamic sibling duo. ⭐️(Lower Grades) Rafael was nominated for Student of the Week by Mr. Hodges. Rafael sets the gold standard for Mustang behavior. As a first grader he comes to school prepared to learn, listen, and lead. Rafael takes accountability for his work and is dedicated to completing all assignments on time. We appreciate his great attitude and attention to procedures. We are so proud of him!

A heartfelt "thank you" to Del City Rotary Club for their generosity! They've graciously donated $100 for us to purchase hygiene products as needed throughout the year. 🧼 Their commitment to Del City schools is evident and we are so appreciative of their support! 💙

Teamwork doesn't have to be loud! 📣 While classmates were testing, these 1st graders were tasked with solving a puzzle in complete silence. They worked together immaculately and we were so proud of their teamwork! Their whispers, sharing, and collaboration were great examples of their classroom community. Clearly, they're very proud of their work!

We would like to sincerely think Del City Police Department's Fraternal Order of Police. Today, they dropped off donations to stock our cabinets with snacks and breakfast bars. We appreciate their generosity and quick response to our call for help! We appreciate our community partners very much. Thank you for taking care of our kids! 🐎💚

We're excited to recognize our students of the week for 08/31/26-09/04/26! Please join us in celebrating.. 🥳 ⭐️(Lower Grades) Josephine was nominated for Student of the Week by Mrs. Cartledge. Josephine has been a great role model to her classmates. She regularly reminds her peers how to follow procedures in a very kind and friendly way. Josephine is a stellar example of the Mustang Mighty 5 and goes above and beyond to help others. She has shown great enthusiasm and participation in Kindergarten so far. ⭐️(Upper Grades) Kyra was nominated for Student of the Week by her 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Minor. Kyra regularly follows procedures and always pays attention during instructional time. She is a great representation of the Mustang Mighty 5 and you never have to wonder if she is doing the right thing. We are so proud of her!

We have yet another community partnership to brag upon!! Our 25-26 Patrons of the Year, Bill Eisenhour at SunnyLane, have been champions for Epperly Heights. Today, they dropped off an amazing supply of tissues and Clorox wipes for our classrooms. We couldn't do what we do, without generous community members like them! Thank you for helping keep our students safe and healthy with these products! 💚🐎

Thank you Del City Police Department for spending time with us this morning!! We appreciate your commitment to building relationships with our students. After reading about "The Bad Seed", students had the opportunity to discuss good behaviors at school, being kind to others, and following directions from our teachers and parents. They also spent a few moments learning about what police officers do. 💙🚓

Our first Team Tuesday in the books! We'll be doing this on the first Tuesday of every month. You can wear Mustang gear, collegiate clothing, or your favorite professional team! 💚🐎

The sunshine cart paid a visit to our staff today! Our educators have been rockstars the last few weeks, we'd say they've earned themselves a snack! 💚🍪 Our teachers are excited to see you at tonight's Open House.

We had some special visitors this morning! Thank you, Del City Fire Department for reading to our Pre-K classes. It's always a great day when green shift stops by. 🚒📚 This morning, they read The Serious Goose. Together, they made enough funny faces that they convinced the goose to be silly instead! 🪿

We're excited to announce Team Tuesdays! The FIRST Tuesday of every month we'll be rocking our favorite team gear. 💚 Grab your Mustang green, represent your favorite college, or show off a professional team you love. We can’t wait to see which teams our Mustangs are cheering for on Sept. 1st! 📣

Today Mrs.Haines' class did a science experiment over sound & vibration! Students placed rubber bands on the top of the cups. When they pulled the band up and let go, they could feel the vibration & hear the sound that came from it. Something so simple was so exciting to observe. 🔊👂🏼

We're excited to celebrate our Students of the Week for 08/24/26-08/28/26. 🥳 Please help us congratulate these students and their spectacular behavior!! ⭐️Upper Grades (3-5) Isaac was nominated for Student of the Week by Mrs. Emanuel. Since beginning 5th grade, Isaac has been a role model for his peers by regularly practicing the Mustang Mighty 5. He has also been an influential member of our morning leadership team, setting the standard for even our tiniest Mustangs to follow. We are so proud of his growth and hard work! Lower grades (PK-2) ⭐️ Major was nominated for Student of the Week by Ms. Watson. After getting a new student in his classroom, Major noticed she was feeling a bit nervous. He went and gave her a hug and welcomed her to their class. On the way to lunch, another friend fell on the blacktop and it scared her. He made sure she was ok and held her hand until they got back inside. Major’s empathetic heart has already made a big difference for his new friends! We are so proud of his kindness and willingness to help others. Lower grades (PK-2) ⭐️Leilani was nominated for Student of the Week by Ms. Schmidt. Leilani has done a STELLAR job since the start of school with following procedures. She never has to be reminded what to do and is a great representation of our Mustang expectations! Leilani is a great friend and a helpful classmate. We are so proud of her!
