Thank you to @Norick Downtown Library for hosting PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade for our collaboration field trip yesterday! We learned so much about what the Metropolitan Library System has to offer for FREE and have a fun time with music, storytelling, and exploration in the Children's Library.

We wore orange day for Red Ribbon Week and we summoned Pumpkin Bones! He loves orange and came to Pleasant Hill in search of pumpkins and anything with his favorite color! We thought he might be involved in the disappearance of many orange items around the school. We will find out tomorrow if they reappear after his visit! Pumpkin Bones sneaked up on each class and acclimated well to our Cardinal ways- giving greetings, answering questions, and being respectful, responsible and safe. Happy Halloween, Pumpkin Bones. Check out the song Pumpkin Bones by Quaver Music if you want to know his story!

Thank you to Forest Park Fire Department's Chief Barron and Firefighter Emrich for firing up Pleasant Hill Elementary staff and student body with a rivoting presentation today! These brave community servants brought their gear, expertise, and heart to the Hill, enlightening all about the job, skills, and responsibilities of firefighters. They also taught us about preparedness in fire safety and what to do in emergencies. We are grateful and honored to have you at the fire station, ready and willing to help us in our time of need.

PreK celebrated International Dot Day, September 15th, with the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. The class interacted with this tale about taking a first step (with a dot in Vashti's case) when we think we can't do something and see where it can go. Today we made our mark on paper and signed our names! Be yourself, be unique, be creative.
