Our 4th and 5th graders are piloting a brand new science curriculum called OpenSciEd and they absolutely LOVE it! 🔬✨
Today, 4th grade students tested how shaking pennies could change their temperature. They went wild when the thermometer climbed past 100 degrees! 🌡️🔥
The best part? This curriculum encourages curiosity. Students are asking “I wonder why?” and “How does that work?” — and then jumping right into hands-on investigations to find out. 🧪💡
Science is alive and exciting in our classrooms! 🙌

BLITZ 2025 was a HUGE hit!
In 2014, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. King began the beloved Blitz tradition. Each year, before school starts, they set out to visit every student’s home, introducing themselves to the families they’ll be serving.
After teaching one year with the 3rd grade team, Mrs. Stamps saw just how powerful this tradition could be. When she joined the 4th and 5th-grade team in 2024, she asked her fellow teachers if they’d like to start Blitzing too—and of course, they said YES!
Fast forward to today: Blitz has grown in a big way. Between first, third, fourth, and fifth grade, more than eighty families were greeted by their teachers today. Students love Blitz because it’s “super cool” when their teacher shows up at their house—and they especially love showing off their pets!
Blitz is just one more way our teachers are building strong connections with students and families before the first-day bell rings.

Each year, our school gets to choose a special person/company/organization to be recognized as a patron that has given time, effort, and resources toward helping our students and teachers have everything they need to succeed.
This year, we are recognizing Grace Place Baptist Church as our Patron of the Year. We have been blessed by this amazing church for over 30 years. They are always in our corner! We are so incredibly grateful for this church and its people, many of whom have children at Schwartz.
Grace Place, thank you SO much for investing in our little school! Your impact is so meaningful and appreciated. Each child at Schwartz is touched by your generosity every single year.
