We're wishing a very happy Instructional Coach Appreciation Day to our very own, Mrs. Ankney!
Mrs. Ankney is a key player in ensuring our teachers have the skills and resources necessary to succeed. Whether it's providing classroom strategies or offering teaching expertise, our educators know they can count on her!
It's time for some October Class/Staff Recognition. This is our first set of Counselor award winners of the year. Join us in celebrating the following Mustangs!
Best Class: Ms. Watson and Ms. Brigette's Pre-K class! During Mrs. Rice's lesson they were engaged and focused on learning. Since the beginning of school, they've shown growth in following procedures and have been exceeding expectations around the building!
Mustang Standard: Mr. Hodges' class has been exceptional when it comes to behavior, representing the Mustang Mighty 5, great listening skills, manners, and more! They were also excellent listeners during their recent guest read with DCPD.
Excellence: Mrs. Looney hosted an amazing book fair and has been the backbone of all things devices. Whether it's navigating technology issues or helping students find the perfect book, we know we can always count on her!
Rockstar Teacher: Ms. Miller has been the perfect addition to Epperly Heights. Since joining our team she's created relationships with Mustangs, brought in visitors (like OU's band), introduced students to new instruments, and is encouraging a love of all things music.

Please join us in celebrating our students of the week for 09/28-10/02! These students have gone above and beyond expectations and we are excited to recognize them! ⭐️Lower Grades Tariq was nominated for Student of the Week by his kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Grady. Tariq is always willing to lend a helping hand to his classmates. If a friend isn’t making good choices, he shows great leadership by encouraging them to make a better one. Tariq uses kind words and is a friendly face to all of his peers. He takes pride in his classroom and can regularly be found cleaning up without being asked to. We are so proud to celebrate his excellent behavior! ⭐️Upper Grades Georgia was nominated for Student of the Week by Mrs. Minor. This student can always be found doing the right thing whether she is in the classroom, cafeteria, hallway, or activity. During classroom instruction she is attentive to the teacher and focused on learning all she can. Georgia is a great example of the Mustang Mighty 5 and we are so proud of her.
Don't forget to check your student's backpack TODAY! Fundraiser information inside.
Funding goes directly back into your child's classroom for miscellaneous supplies. As well as, teachers with 10+ students who sign up for the fundraiser will receive a gift card. 🥳
As part of our school-wide reading initiative, our goal is to keep library books in the hands of our students all year long! This means, books will be in backpacks traveling to and from school regularly. We want our students to read for a few minutes EVERY night! 📚🩷
To help keep them safe, we ask that library books live in a gallon baggy whenever possible. This will protect them from spilled drinks, pages bending, rainy days, etc!
If you would like to help make this happen, we've added gallon baggies to our Amazon wishlist! We appreciate your help with this. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/309Z1G9PL7U00?ref_=wl_share
Here's your October breakfast and lunch menus! Remember, students in Mid-Del have the opportunity to eat two meals a day free of charge. 🎃🧡
Our breakfast doors open at 8:15 and any Mustangs planning to eat must enter through those doors, NOT the main entrance.
Student who do not plan to eat breakfast at school may come through our main entrance starting at 8:30. 🕣
Our Big Kahuna fundraiser starts TODAY! Guardians, please check your students backpack for their permission slip to participate. 🌴
This permission slip is an agreement to receive your box of candy to sell. Each box has $60 worth of candy in it. We hope you'll join us in raising funds for your child's classroom! 🍫
Retake day is Tuesday! You won't want to miss this final photo opportunity.
Dress your best and smile big! 🤩📸
Ms. French's 4th grade class learned about the 5 senses. Students were tasked with identifying the items in the box by using only touch. ✋🏽
Learning can happen anywhere! Our classroom is wherever we are.
Mrs. Emanuel's 5th graders have taken their vocab practice to the concrete. A change in scenery, fresh air, fun with chalk, and vocab work? We can't think of anything better. 🔤💛
Mrs. Zundell's Kindergarten class is practicing their letters this morning. By using playdough, students are mastering fine motor skills and literacy objectives! That's a win win! 🥇
Please join us in celebrating our students of the week for 09/21-09/25! 🥳
⭐️Lower Grades
Angel was nominated for Student of the Week by Ms. Shaw. Angel is an outstanding Mustang who consistently demonstrates the Mustang Mighty Five! We are proud to have Angel in our Mustang family!
⭐️Upper Grades
Vivalynn was nominated for Student of the Week by office staff. On the Mustang Leadership team she has exhibited great responsibility. Without hesitation Vivalynn always does what is asked of her and we never have to worry about her doing the right thing. She is kind to her classmates, helpful to her friends, and reliable when someone on our staff needs her. We appreciate her representation of the Mustang Mighty 5 every single day.
Pride of Oklahoma is at Epperly Heights!! ❤️ Our first assembly of the year was a good time for all! Thank you to our wonderful new music teacher, Ms. Miller, for bringing her Alma Mater's band to perform for us this morning.
It's High 5 Friday!
Huge thank you to Del City High School's National Honor Society for helping welcome our students to school today. They gave high fives, compliments, and morning greetings to all of our Mustangs as they entered. We appreciate these students pouring into the next generation of Eagles!🦅❤️
It's Teacher Assistant Appreciation Day! Here at Epperly Heights we have two of the best TA's around. Our Pre-K classrooms are top tier because of people like Ms. Wynns and Ms. Brigette. 🩷🖍️ We are so thankful to have them!
