2024-2025 School Calendar Update! The Board of Education approved a change to the 2024-2025 District Calendar during tonight's Board of Education meeting. Mid-Del will be using the Snow Day originally scheduled for May 2, 2025, as a regular instructional day. That means students and staff WILL be in school on May 2. As we conclude Women's History Month, we want to spotlight the some women who are making history. The Oklahoma City Lady Force, a women's full-contact football team that's breaking barriers and proving that the gridiron isn't just for men. ​ Founded in 2015, the Lady Force began their journey in the Women's Xtreme Football League (WXFL), playing 8-person football. They achieved an impressive undefeated streak for five consecutive years, securing five WXFL Championship Titles. In 2020, they joined the Women's Football Alliance (WFA), the country's largest organized women's football league. By 2022, in just their second year in the WFA, the Lady Force went undefeated and clinched the WFA Division 3 National Championship in Canton, OH. ​ Beyond their athletic achievements, the Lady Force is a diverse sisterhood comprising military service members, teachers, therapists, first responders, and small business owners. They actively give back to the community through initiatives like the Community Action Mentorship Program (CAMP) and by supporting local youth organizations. ​ Their mission embodies empowerment: "Empower a woman in sports and you empower a generation breaking through barriers, shattering expectations, and redefining what is possible." ​ Let's celebrate the OKC Lady Force for their dedication, resilience, and for paving the way for future generations of female athletes. #WomensHistoryMonth #OKCLadyForce #BreakingBarriers

🌟 Person of the Day: Annie Dodge Wauneka 🌟 Today, we recognize Annie Dodge Wauneka, a dedicated leader and advocate for public health in the Navajo Nation. Born in 1910, she became the first woman elected to the Navajo Tribal Council and spent her life working to improve healthcare, education, and sanitation for her people. Wauneka played a crucial role in combating tuberculosis on the reservation and worked to bridge the gap between traditional Navajo healing practices and modern medicine.
