The Schwartz Botball Team participated in the Mid-Del Elementary Botball Challenge on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Mid-Del Learning Services Center. Students were presented with five regular challenges, two mystery challenges, and one bonus challenge, requiring them to utilize their computer programming, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Tasks varied in difficulty, from simple ones like driving forward to touch a soda can to more complex ones such as programming the bot to draw a happy face. Schwartz was one of three schools to successfully complete EVERY CHALLENGE, earning a banner that was proudly presented to Mr. Jones during Stomp! Congratulations to our outstanding Stallions! #mdpurpose

For the past two years, our wonderful secretary, Mrs. Erin Collier, has organized a delightful activity for the Schwartz staff. She hides Marley the Mouse somewhere in the school, and when a staff member finds her, they snap a picture, return Marley to the office, and choose a prize. Thank you, Mrs. Collier, for bringing such a fun and new tradition to our school!

Second Annual Schwartz Day Parade Mrs. Campbell shared the delightful book Balloons Over Broadway with her first-grade classes, introducing them to the fascinating story of Tony Sarg, the creative genius behind the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons. Inspired by Sarg’s ingenuity, the students stepped into the roles of engineers and designers, tasked with creating their own balloons for the 2nd Annual Schwartz Thanksgiving Day Parade. To tackle the challenge, the class brainstormed innovative ways to attach their balloons to the class Bee Bots, sketched detailed design plans, and brought their visions to life. The result? An impressive display of creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving that truly captured the spirit of the holiday season! 💙💛Great Job Stallions!!💛💙 #mdpurpose

Happy Veterans' Day On Friday, Schwartz had the honor of hosting a Veterans’ breakfast to recognize and thank our military members, both active and retired. We were joined by guest speaker Command Master Chief Curtis Blunt, who is currently the Branch Manager at FNB Community Bank, Tinker BX. A big thank you to our amazing Schwartz PTA for organizing this meaningful event, and to FNB Community Bank for sponsoring. Our celebration continued at our "Let Freedom Ring - Celebrate the USA" Stomp. Ms. McBride did an outstanding job preparing our 3rd Grade Stallions for their special performance. During the program, our Veterans were recognized and invited to share how long they served, where they served, and who they were there to represent. It was a truly special moment. Thank you to all veterans, past and present, for your service and sacrifice. #mdpurpose #TeamTinker #VeteransDay

Just over one year ago, the patrons of the Mid-Del School District came together to support a bold vision for the future of our schools, approving a $492,700,000 bond proposal aimed at making significant improvements district-wide. Since then, we’ve made remarkable strides in transforming that vision into reality. In this newsletter, we’re excited to share updates on the progress of various construction projects, including detailed renderings, as well as improvements to our security measures and recent purchases that enhance our students' learning environments. Thank you for your continued trust and investment in the future of our district! ONE District. ONE Family. #mdpurpose https://mdc.edurooms.com/engage/bond-information/newsletters/bond-anniversary-update
