Student Assessment is an integral part of the educational process. Its primary functions are to assist, support, and direct student teaching and learning. Mid-Del and the State of Oklahoma Assessments help to determine the effectiveness of instruction, provide data for guiding future student learning, and give feedback on the progress of student achievement.

As required by law, all Mid-Del students in grades 3-8 participate in the Oklahoma State Testing Program.  The results of these are utilized to show not only areas to improve but also areas to celebrate.

2023 – 2024 Proficiency Based Promotion Testing

Proficiency Based Promotion (PBP) provides the opportunity for students to move forward in their educational endeavors by subject, course, and/or grade level based upon mastery of the current Oklahoma Academic Standards, not upon time spent in classes, completion of assignments, or prerequisites. The student who can successfully be moved ahead under PBP guidelines must demonstrate content knowledge, skills, and the application of those learnings through assessments to evaluate appropriate placement of students and/or provide course credit to students who can demonstrate proficiency in the competencies of the course or grade level. PBP’s are also used for appropriate course placement if a student is entering Mid-Del Public Schools from a homeschool or a non-accredited school. Whether for course placement or possible early promotion, the following form must be completed. The district will test students during one of the two summer session options. If the student enrolls from homeschool or a non- accredited school after these dates and deadlines and needs course placement for the school year, the district will work on an alternate session option.
