This week, Mid-Del educators were learning, collaborating, and sharpening their practice at the Solution Tree RTI at Work Institute in Oklahoma City.
Teams from six elementary schools and one high school, including principals, instructional coaches, and teacher teams, came together to deepen their work around student support, collaboration, and results-driven instruction.
We’re proud of our leaders and educators for investing their time and energy into learning that directly strengthens what happens in classrooms every day.

Today, students from our three high schools spent the day at Rose State College experiencing a “Day in the Life” of a college student. They explored the campus, sat in classrooms, met professors, and learned about the Ticket to Rose and concurrent enrollment opportunities. Thank you, Rose State, for hosting our students and investing in their future! #mdpurpose #OneDistrictOneFamily

Happy School Counselor Week
School Counselors serve our students in countless ways, many of which happen quietly and behind the scenes. They give selflessly, often putting the needs of others first, and they approach their work with care, courage, and a deep commitment to student success.
Our counselors build meaningful relationships, advocate for students and families, and encourage young people to believe in themselves, pursue their goals, and persevere through challenges. Their guidance, compassion, and dedication have a lasting impact on the lives they touch.
Mid-Del is fortunate to have exceptional School Counselors—past and present—whose work strengthens our schools and our community. We are truly better because of you. Thank you for all you do! Help us celebrate our counselors. Share the name of your favorite school counselor in the comments. #mdpurpose

After our team drove throughout the district this morning, we are ready to be back in school. Welcome back!
The roads aren't perfect. There are still some slick spots in neighborhoods, along with a few intersections near Barnes, Schwartz, and Pleasant Hill Elementary. We encourage families to plan for extra time getting their students to school. Bus routes may run a little more slowly in these areas as well.
We will ask schools to be mindful of these conditions when marking students tardy at the beginning of the school day.
We understand that parents have the ultimate responsibility to decide what's safe for your child. Our school parking lots and sidewalks have been cleared, and we will have warm meals. If you can't get out of your neighborhood, please call your child's absence into their school.

An important message from Dr. Cobb.
Good afternoon -
We have been out driving roads and are seeing some improvement. Of course, better doesn't mean great. The forecast shows temperatures hovering around the freezing mark overnight. Right now, I'm 50/50 on being in school tomorrow. The final decision will be made when my team and I get up early in the morning and test roads in different parts of the district. Our decision will be made by 5:00 am, at which point we will send out messages, either way.
I know that leaves our families and staff in limbo, and I'm sorry for that, but I never take the responsibility of this decision lightly. As much as I'd love to have the right answer right now, I'm going to ask for your patience. The goal is always to teach our students and be safe doing it.
With that in mind, stay warm and safe. Hopefully, we'll see you tomorrow.

Please continue to stay warm and safe. We appreciate your patience and understanding. ❄️

Mid-Del Schools will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
As we honor Dr. King’s legacy, we reflect on his powerful words and the role education plays in shaping thoughtful, compassionate leaders:
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.”
We look forward to welcoming students and staff back on Tuesday as we continue this important work together.

Mid-Del Technology Center's student organization, CTSO, chose to "Pack the Pantry" as its community service project this year.
Cindy Counts and Lauren Holmes of our MDTC, facilitated the drive with the student leadership program.
The Cybersecurity Students took the lead in collecting, organizing, and delivering the food items to the Mid-Del Schools Supplemental Feeding Program.
Mr. Minard's class also donated $1,000 to pack the pantry with frozen items, fresh fruits, and vegetables.
A special thank you for helping Sleigh the Holidays!
