The Oklahoma Council for Indian Education (OCIE) is delighted to announce the following Mid-Del Native Students on their acceptance to the Oklahoma Indian Student Honor Society.  Based on their stellar academic record, 3.9 and above,  service leadership involvement, and Indigenous cultural participation, a panel of independent reviewers selected them for this award.

Indian Education Training for Mid-Del Teachers Summer 2023

We are excited to be offering Indian Education training for our Mid-Del Teachers during Toolbox Tuesdays this summer.

Chickasaw Nation will present "Power of Perspectives" a discussion and critical thinking toward an understanding of cultural sensitivity.  Tuesday, June 13 @ 1:00 PM.

Potawatomi Nation will present "Pedagogy and Indigenous Education for All" on Tuesday, June 20th @ 11:00 AM.

Fancy Dancer Visits Schwartz Elementary

The Schwartz Stallions had a special guest visit their school. Ryland Moore is a member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma and a descendent of the Osage, Caddo, and Pawnee Nations. He is a fourth generation Fancy Dancer and shared his talents with the students at Schwartz Elementary today as part of Native American Heritage Month. #mdpurpose
