🎓💜 Calling all military-connected seniors! 💜🎓 Purple graduation cords are now available in your school’s counseling office! Thanks to our incredible partners at Tinker AFB School Liaison Office, seniors who had a parent serve in the military—past or present—while attending school are eligible to receive a Purple Military Honor Cord to wear at graduation. 🔬💻 NEW to STEM Night this year: Skype a Scientist! 💻🔬 We’re excited to welcome a real scientist from the University of Virginia who will be joining us virtually from 6:00–6:30 PM in the Music Room during STEM Night! Students will have the chance to ask questions and learn directly from an expert in the field. Have a question you'd like to ask? Drop it in the comments below or email it to [your email] so we can share it with our guest ahead of time! Of course, there will also be time for live Q&A during the event, but we’d love to give our scientist a few student questions in advance. Today was extra sweet at Schwartz Elementary thanks to our friends at Blue Bell Ice Cream who surprised every Stallion with a cool treat to celebrate Schwartz being named a National Blue Ribbon School this year! 🌊 Making a Splash at Soldier Creek! 🌊 Our Soldier Creek Tigers believe learning goes beyond the classroom—and thanks to amazing community partners like the Midwest City YMCA, our students are diving into real-life skills that matter. What started as an act of kindness—YMCA staff stepping up to help during a tough time—has grown into a true partnership built on heart and service. From helping out during lunch and recess to showing up for school dances and teacher appreciation events, the YMCA has become part of the Soldier Creek family. Now, they’re helping our 2nd graders learn how to stay safe in and around water! 💦 Through a hands-on Water Safety Program taught by certified lifeguards, students will attend four exciting sessions at the YMCA. They're not just learning how to swim—they're learning how to stay safe for life. 🛟 We’re grateful for the YMCA’s support and can’t wait to see all the great things ahead with their new and improved facility coming soon! We’re on a mission across the district to present ENERGY STAR Awards! 🚨 Weather Update – After-School Activities Canceled for April 1, 2025🚨 We’ve been closely monitoring the forecast and have participated in NOAA webinars and briefings from the National Weather Service. Due to the potential for severe weather later today, all after-school programs and activities are canceled for Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Classes will continue as scheduled, but we are taking extra precautions to ensure everyone's safety this afternoon. Latchkey services are also canceled after school.
