Celebrating Our Educators on the Last Day of Public Schools Week!
Behind every student’s success is a teacher who believes in them. Our educators are the glue that holds everything together—they teach, inspire, encourage, and love our kids every single day. No matter what circumstances our students face, our teachers open their arms, their hearts, and their classrooms to create a safe, happy space where all students can thrive.
Let’s take a moment to celebrate the impact a teacher can make. Who was the teacher that changed your life? Drop their name in the comments and share how they made a difference! #PublicSchoolsWeek #mdpurpose #OneDistrictOneFamily

Ever Wonder What It’s Like to Be a Principal for a Day?
As we celebrate Public Schools Week, we want to highlight the incredible work of our school principals—the leaders who make our schools successful every day!
Today, we partnered with the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program to give 18 community members the unique opportunity to step into the role of Principal for a Day across Mid-Del Schools. From greeting students at the door and opening car doors for our youngest learners to helping in the cafeteria and witnessing the daily responsibilities of school leadership, our guest principals got a firsthand look at what it takes to run a school!
The feedback? Our principals are truly amazing! Participants shared their appreciation for the love and dedication our principals have for their students, as well as the incredible efforts of our teachers and support staff in making each day successful.
A huge thank you to the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce and all 18 participants for taking the time to experience the heart of our schools. We are proud to showcase the dedication, passion, and teamwork that make Mid-Del Schools a great place to learn and grow! #PublicSchoolsWeek #PrincipalForADay #OneDistrictOneFamily #mdpurpose

Our dedicated school foundation tirelessly works to support our schools' mission, providing essential resources and programs that directly benefit our students and educators. Additionally, the collaborative efforts of our two Chambers of Commerce, through their joint education committee, play a pivotal role in fostering strong connections between our schools and the broader community.
We invite community members to share their appreciation for Mid-Del Schools' commitment to education. Your heartfelt messages will help foster a sense of community pride and gratitude, highlighting the collective effort that makes our district exceptional.

Cristo to Receive Special Wish Through Make-A-Wish Oklahoma
Cristo a brave 16-year-old, Del City High School student, battling Cystic Fibrosis is about to have his most heartfelt wish come true, thanks to the generosity of Make-A-Wish Oklahoma. This incredible moment is part of the organization’s ongoing mission to bring joy, hope, and inspiration to children facing serious health challenges.
Cristo who has shown immense courage throughout his medical journey, will be granted a special wish that will bring a sense of joy and excitement to their life during a challenging time. His wish is to travel to Hawaii, where he and his family will explore the beautiful islands of Hawaii.
Today, we had the honor of celebrating Cristo by surprising him and his family with the exciting news that their trip is happening this week. While his mom was already aware of the details, today’s wish celebration made it extra special. A big thank you to Del City High School for helping coordinate the surprise at today's Oklahoma Association of Student Council's District 9 meeting. All 13 high school student councils personalized signs and added their support of Cristo, making this celebration even more magical and unforgettable. (Thank you District 9!)
“We are incredibly grateful to be part of making Cristo’s wish come true,” said Lucy Fusselman, Development Officer at Make-A-Wish Oklahoma. “Every wish we grant is a reminder of how powerful hope and happiness can be in a child’s life. We are honored to support Cristo and their family during this journey.”
The wish will begin on Friday, February 28th, 2025. It will be an unforgettable vacation for Cristo and his family, as they create lasting memories together. This wish would not be possible without the support of our generous donors, who help make these dreams come true. Their contributions bring hope and joy to children and families facing challenging times. We are deeply grateful for their continued commitment to making a difference in the lives of our wish kids.
Make-A-Wish Oklahoma continues to be committed to bringing hope and joy to children with critical illnesses, one wish at a time. To learn more about how you can support this cause or make a donation, visit Make-A-Wish® Oklahoma. www.Wish.org/Oklahoma

Good afternoon Mid-Del -
I hope you've all been able to stay safe and warm these last couple of days. Things are looking up. We aren't supposed to get any more precipitation, and tomorrow morning's wind chill should only dip down to negative five!
Yeah, that's pretty bad still. The roads are still sheets of ice. Our parking lots and sidewalks are a mess. Hopefully tomorrow, we will have a chance to start clearing some of the slick areas.
Because of all of this, we will have another Remote Learning Day tomorrow, February 20, 2025. Hopefully (fingers crossed) we will be able to be in school Friday.
Until then, stay inside if there's any way you can. Don't take any unnecessary risks. We'll get back to teaching and learning soon enough.
Sincerely,
Dr. Rick Cobb

Mid-Del Families,
We hope you are staying safe and warm during this period of unpredictable weather. With the uncertainty surrounding school schedules this week, we have decided to postpone Parent-Teacher Conferences to Tuesday, February 25, and Thursday, February 27 to ensure all families have the opportunity to connect with teachers in a safe and productive way.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these adjustments. We appreciate your flexibility and support as we continue working to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school.
Stay safe and take care. #mdpurpose
