
The Board of Education named Mrs. Kellie Duckworth as the District’s Payroll Coordinator. Duckworth worked at MidFirst Bank for ten years, five as a branch manager, two as an assistant manager and 3 as a personal banker. She has served in Mid-Del for six years in the Finance Department. She started as a payroll specialist then moved to finance as the finance support technician and currently serves as the payroll executive assistant. She is excited for her new role and grateful for the opportunity to serve the Mid-Del employees.
Kellie is married to Shannon and together they have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. She is a proud mom of an Educator and also of 2 serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Student Athletes cannot participate in school athletic activities during the dead week period.
Secondary-level students enrolled or pre-enrolled students at a member school may not use any member school’s athletic facilities during the dead period in connection with any athletic activity governed by the OSSAA.
Member school coaches, assistant coaches and sponsors may not have any contact with secondary-level enrolled or pre-enrolled students in that member school in any athletic activity governed by the OSSAA for the purpose of coaching, training, or instructing.

The Board of Education named Ms. Shakari Dotson as Assistant Principal for Midwest City Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year during the Special Board of Education meeting today.
Shakari was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She pursued an undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Shakari received her Master’s in Educational Administration Curriculum and Supervision from the University of Oklahoma. Her education journey began with Teach for America, leading her to Oklahoma City, where she started her teaching career at Millwood Middle School, teaching 7th-grade math. Over the past seven years, Shakari has taught science, honors math, and Algebra 1. In addition to teaching, she has been actively involved in enhancing students’ schooling through programs such as Girl Scouts and robotics and coordinating a high-impact in-school tutoring program— Ignite, to make a significant impact within the school community. Shakari enjoys spending quality time with my family outside of school, exploring her love for baking and the great outdoors. She has been happily married to her husband, Gabriel, for four years, and they share a 13-month-old son, Joel. Shakari is thrilled about the opportunity to serve the staff, students, and the community at Midwest City Middle School, and she is eager to contribute to the school's continued success.

The Board of Education named Mr. Tyler McIntosh as Assistant Principal for Midwest City High School for the 2024-2025 school year during the Special Board of Education meeting today.
Tyler is a graduate of Mid-America Christian University and the University of Central Oklahoma. He has served in Mid-Del for seven years, four as an assistant principal at MCMS and one as an AP at CAMS. He taught Oklahoma History and was the head soccer coach for two years at MCHS. Before Mid-Del, he taught and coached at Muskogee High School. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three wonderful daughters, playing soccer, and hanging out with friends. Ultimately, he is excited to return to MCHS and work hard to help our students grow.

The Board of Education named Ms. Chara Patterson as the Head Principal for Midwest City High School for the 2024-2025 school year during the Special Board of Education meeting today.
Chara Patterson, a native of Midwest City, found her passion for learning and serving others through the dedication of her teachers at Steed Elementary and Carl Albert. Their influence inspired her to dream big and taught her that her possibilities were limitless. With over 13 years of experience in education, she has served students in grades 5-12 as a classroom teacher, coach, and assistant principal within Oklahoma City Public Schools. Mrs. Patterson is thrilled to return to her roots and serve the students and families of Midwest City High School.
Outside of her professional life, Chara cherishes her role as a wife and proud mother of three beautiful children. She finds joy and fulfillment in family time and makes lasting memories together.
Patterson fills the role vacated by Ms. Berger who now is serving the District as the Homeless Liaison Administrator.

The Board of Education named Mrs. Tara Williams as the District’s Finance Coordinator during the Special Board of Education meeting today.
Tara Williams is a product of Mid-Del Public Schools; she graduated from Carl Albert High School in 2004. She earned her Bachelor's in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Ethics from Mid-America University. Tara has worked for Mid-Del for 14 years and currently serves as the Payroll Coordinator.
Tara is married to Kyle Williams, who is also a Mid-Del graduate and is a Captain for the Midwest City Fire Department. She has two children, Cash and Grey Williams.

2024-2025 Clear Backpack Requirement for Grades 6-12
In an effort to improve the safety measures currently in place, Mid-Del Public Schools will require all students in grades 6-12 to carry clear backpacks. Additionally, the maximum size for non-transparent bags that students are permitted to carry during the school day will be 5.5 inches x 8.5 inches.
