On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 lives were lost in the tragic terrorist attacks on our nation. The bravery of first responders and the resilience of communities across America remain a lasting reminder of courage and unity.
By a joint resolution of Congress, September 11 is observed each year as Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance. Americans are encouraged to mark this day with acts of service, reflection, and remembrance.
In our schools, we use this day to teach the importance of compassion, unity, and service to others. Together, we remember the past and inspire the future.

Yesterday, Dr. Cobb’s Superintendent Student Advisory Board (SAB) held its first meeting of the school year. This diverse group of juniors and seniors—10 from each high school- represents Carl Albert, Del City, and Midwest City High Schools.
Students shared feedback on important topics like plans for the Senior Conference, technology, school safety, and their goals for the year. Their insight is invaluable, and Dr. Cobb always makes it a priority to listen to the voices of our students.
The SAB students will be hosting a District-Wide leadership conference for the spring semester to include students from all three high schools. We are excited to kick off the year with these student leaders who are actively involved in a wide range of activities across our schools.
