April 10, 2024 Remote Learning Day for all Mid-Del 9th, 10th, and 12th graders. The Oklahoma State Department of Education has provided the opportunity for school districts to utilize funding for FREE ACT testing. Mid-Del will be giving a FREE ACT Test to ALL JUNIORS (and those seniors who have been notified by their sites). Due to staff needs and testing facility requirements, ALL 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students (who have not been identified to test) will have a remote learning day (will not report to their school sites) on April 10, 2024. Seniors that attend Mid-Del Technology Center will report to MDTC for your classes that day.

During tonight's Board of Education Meeting, Mr. Kely Walk was named an Elementary Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 School Year. Kely is a passionate educator with 25 years of experience teaching PE, Health, and Algebra in Altus, Lewisville (TX), and Southmoore. Beyond the classroom, he has coached various sports like basketball, football, track, cross country, and golf. Kely also has administrative experience as an Assistant Principal Intern at Townsend Elementary. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, cheering on the Thunder, and hitting the golf course or pickleball court. #mdpurpose

During tonight's Board of Education Meeting, Mrs. Rebekah Mitchell was named an Elementary Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 School Year. Rebekah has served as a teacher and assistant principal, and has most recently been serving as an elementary intern skipping across the district to fill in wherever she is needed. Everywhere she has been has resulted in positive feedback from staff at each site. Rebekah is honored to serve the Mid-Del School District as an Elementary Assistant Principal because this affords her the opportunity to passionately serve the families within our community, inspire and equip the leaders of our future, pursue her aspirations in education administration, and to continue to immerse herself in the legendary Mid-Del Way alongside her children, Mila (9) and Miles (7), and her husband, Ky. #mdpurpose

During tonight's Board of Education Meeting, Ms. JoAnna Brown was named an Elementary Principal for the 2024-2025 School Year. Ms. Brown grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma. She studied at the University of Oklahoma where she received her masters degree in Education Administration, Supervision, and Curriculum. She taught for eight years with Norman Public Schools, and has been an assistant principal for three years, currently serving at Soldier Creek Elementary. Ms. Brown is passionate about building relationships and partnering with families to help students succeed academically and socially. Ms. Brown is excited to serve as a building principal and looks forward to meeting her staff, students, and their families. #mdpurpose
